RIGEL premier quality heater tapes have been designed to respond to changes in the power setting as rapidly as possible.

A thin layer of synthetic heat-resistant fabric allows the heat from the wire element to be transferred quickly and efficiently to the equipment to be protected. When the power is turned down, the heat will dissipate quickly ensuring that the telescope maintains top performance. The surface not in contact with the equipment is covered in soft insulating Velcro™ velour. The heat goes were it's needed, on to your optics not warming up the air!

To secure the tape simply wrap it around the lens, mirror cell or barrel to be protected and fasten in place with the elasticated Velcro strip. Each tape is fitted with a 1m (39") connecting cable to ensure convenient positioning. The tapes come in a wide range of sizes and can be fitted to tube diameters ranging from 25mm to 468mm (1" to 18.5"). Tapes up to 400mm long are 28mm wide and all longer tapes are 39mm wide. The tapes and elements require a controller and suitable power supply (see Controllers and Power Units below) and are not included with the tapes.
